What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device. Session cookies last only until you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay until they expire or you delete them. Cookies set by tid itself are first-party; cookies set by third-party services we use (like Google Analytics) are third-party.

What cookies tid uses

We try to use as few cookies as possible. Here's the full list:

Strictly necessary

These keep you logged in and the site working. tid won't function without them.

  • _84_SESSION — your login session (expires when the session ends)
  • tid_user — marks you as a returning visitor for the homepage redirect

Functionality

These remember your preferences so you don't have to set them every visit.

  • login_email — pre-fills your email on the login page
  • usercol_* — caches your basic profile fields for 12 hours to avoid repeated database lookups
  • Theme preference — remembers light/dark mode

Analytics

These help us understand how marketing pages are used. They're only set on the public marketing pages (the homepage, about, pricing, FAQ, etc.) — never inside the app or on user blogs.

  • Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _gid, _gat) — aggregated traffic stats. Opt out here

tid does not use advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels, or remarketing cookies.

Email tracking pixels

Transactional emails we send (account verification, password reset, post-comment notifications, daily digests) may contain a tracking pixel that lets us see when an email was opened. This helps us catch deliverability problems. You can disable image loading in your email client to prevent the pixel from loading.

Your choices

You can delete cookies and block new ones via your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, you won't be able to log in to tid. Blocking analytics cookies has no effect on your account or your ability to use tid.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continuing to use tid after a change means you accept it.
